If you are committed to finding out the way the world actually is, then truth is good, if you are committed to deceit and slander and control or domination, then truth is bad.

FUTURE PROJECT
By Mick Gordon

ARE WE TRUTH-SEEKING CREATURES?
Or do we prefer the comforting lie to the hard fact? Does our capacity for self-deception make it impossible for us to ever truly perceive reality? If so, how can be sure that reality exists?

On Truth is based on interviews with the following people: Simon Blackburn, Gregory Chaitin, Noam Chomsky, Nick Davies, Richard Evans, AC Grayling, Bruce Houlder QC,
John Humprys, Dan Hind, Martin Kusch, Mary Midgely, Peter Oborne, David Livingstone Smith, Mary Warnock
and Peter Wilby.

These interviews will be published Continuum in 2009 under the title Conversations on Truth and will form the basis of this theatre essay.
